Girls Night

I had so much fun with my besties celebrating my birthday!  Sweet Angie planned everything... a night at The Balboa Bay Club, drinks and apps at A&O then dinner at 3-Thirty-3.  I feel very lucky and fortunate to have great friends who I love spending time with, are always there for me and are kind and wonderful women.  They make me smile and always give me perspective and insight.  Thank you Angie, Sherry, Jaime and Cathy for taking time out of your busy schedules to make time for me!

Yosemite Highlights

Dear Diary, we loved Yosemite Valley!  We saw up close and personal some of Yosemite's most famous sightseeing points such as Yosemite Falls, Half Dome, El Capitan, Tunnel View and Bridalveil Falls.  Our park ranger described in detail the history, geology, plant and animal life of the region.



We enjoyed our week in Yosemite with Ginny and Gene.  We stayed 4 nights at the Tenaya Lodge.  We hiked through the Mariposa grove of giant sequoias ending at the breathtaking grizzly giant.  On our way home from Yosemite we stopped in Bass Lake for a day of fishing.  Jeff chartered a boat to take us out to catch some trout.  And catch trout we did!  We came home with 5 fish and cooked them for dinner the next night!  Good times!

My Favorite Summer Cocktail

Blueberry Lemon Drop
 

Ingredients:
1 oz lemon juice
2 oz blueberry (Stolichnaya) vodka
8 blueberries
3 tsp syrup
Ice
Directions:
Pour lemon juice and blueberries into the cocktail shaker first. Muddle the blueberries a bit (this will release the juices and give the martini that pretty pink/purple color). Add vodka, syrup, and ice. Shake for 20 seconds and pour into a chilled martini glass!

Saint Rocke

Dinner at Bottega Romana in the village then a "Billy Idol", "Police"tribute band at Saint Rocke.  Lucky enough to have Robyn and Ted join us for the fun!  Love our date nights!
