Thoughts For Today

Dear Diary,
Today I'm angry!  Not with my husband or kids... they're wonderful!  Not with my beautiful life... it's great!  I'm angry about what's happening in our world with Islamic Terrorism.  Today Brussels was attacked.  Isis was responsible.  Our President reacted very briefly and nonchalantly from Cuba while visiting a Communist Dictator and making a speech about the similarities and differences between our countries and how democracy is the way to solve Cuba's problems.  You can pull a transcript of the speech if you're interested.
What I wanted Obama to say is... these terror attacks have to end and we are going to do everything in our power to make that happen.  There has been attack after attack on American soil and worldwide.  Islamic Terrorism is only getting bigger and stronger.  I pray for peace.  I pray for safety.  I also pray that our leaders take the proper steps and measures to keep our citizens safe.
I look forward to the next Republican President who will take action against terrorism and restore confidence and pride in our country.  I have high hopes!  I love America!  And I know being the greatest nation in the world is possible... again!

20 years ago I dined at a little restaurant similar to this in Luxembourg.  Closest I've been to Brussels.

Date Night Concert

Dear Diary,
Culture Club, Billy Idol, Tears For Fears and Missing Persons!  It doesn't get much better than that!  We had the best time at the i Heart Radio 80's concert at the Forum.  Dinner at Il Fornaio was great too!  Love you hunny!

Travel Diary

President's Weekend In Mammoth

Dear Diary,
This year's forecast for snow in Mammoth was good.  Josette was ready to go!  The 3 little ones took a lesson then hit the slopes.  Jeff helped each one with their skill and technique.  Even though I'm not a skier, I enjoy seeing their smiles as they slide down the mountain concentrating on their path.  This year we went with Ginny & Gene and the Brusseau's.  We stayed at Mountain Back and also fit in a day of sledding and snowman making.  I got sick toward the end of our trip but that didn't stop us from having a romantic Valentines dinner in Convict Lake.  Good times with family and friends!

Kids sledding outside our back door.

Freestyle before the lessons.

Ginny and Gene enjoying the view.
Spent the day on June Mountain.

I'm So Happy She's Happy

Dear Diary,
Josette's smile says it all!  She's a happy, smart and fun 7th grader.  She's truly a diamond in the rough.  She's special because she's interested in learning.  She cares about others feelings and enjoys being with her friends and family.  She's a great example to her sisters and brother because she makes good choices.  She pushes herself to do her best in school and she's not afraid to try new things.  That's what makes my #1 girl special and her beautiful spirit and zest for life, makes me happy!

The One

I heard a knock
You were waiting at the door
You smiled that smile
I remembered from before
You were somehow free

You were looking for me
Then it struck a cord

It was always meant to be

For the next 3 years
We courted everyday
And on my 30th birthday
My life changed in every way
I said yes to you
My husband to be
It felt so right
You went down on your knee

Four kids later
3 beautiful girls and a boy
A house by the sea
My heart filled with joy
